A Letter To My Wife

October 21, 2017 –  California

Dear Bex,

This may come as a bit of a shock but — Surprise! You’re
pregnant. Okay, so it may not be as shocking as it was back in
March. You have grown, incubated, and carried around our
future child inside you for almost nine months now. But do
you remember how surprised we were when we found out?
It was a dark and stormy night…not really, it was a bright
and sunny afternoon. We had just returned from a trip to Las
Vegas with your buffet food poisoning as our only souvenir.

So we took a trip to the doctor’s office and what’s the first
thing he tells us? Congratulations, you’re having a baby. Oh, you didn’t know?
Surprise! Well, judging by the stunned looks on your faces,
I’ll just give you two a moment to speak privately…
The timing was less than ideal. We were in the middle of
planning our wedding, we had roommates, and a severe lack of
funds. But that didn’t scare you. In fact, it seemed to do the
opposite.

I’ve never seen a person so determined and strong. You’ve met
each speed bump along the way with a laugh, a smile, and only
a enough tears to keep Noah’s Ark afloat.

These stories are for you. Truthfully they are yours, just as
much, maybe more so, than they are mine. I couldn’t imagine
being here without you and lucky for you, you wouldn’t be
here(nine months pregnant) without me. It’s funny how life
works out that way.

Love You Always,

The Big Lug
